The article presents a classification of units in the game and use units to address the tactical objectives.
Usual infantry:
Infantry is your eyes and ears on the field of battle. Usual shots with rifles and submachine guns, located along the front line, will show you all the attacking enemy's forces, which you will have to destroy. If you are assaulted by the infantry, use artillery; if by tanks – then use everything what is in the way: from antitank grenades to heavy tanks. In order to increase the reconnaissance efficiency with usual infantry, it is worth taking care of its secrecy: you may place infantrymen in the bushes and switch off firing for them.
Elite infantry:
Elite infantry tends to be of several types.
- Assault men are the weapon for breaking fronts through and seizing flags.
- Officers see further than other warriors and they can reconnoitre enemy's emplacements using a spyglass.
- Snipers spot the hidden infantrymen well. Scouts are more imperceptible for enemies.
- A mortar man is the foot artillery.
- Machine gunners are very good at infantry destruction at any distance.
- A flame thrower man may be of use for destroying the infantry in the shelters and for burning heavy tanks.
Antitank parties, armed with bazookas, grenades and Molotov's cocktails, are able to destroy any armoured unit from an ambush. You need only to fire at the engine of the target. Soldiers with antitank rifles are able to destroy light tanks, shooting at their side, or armoured cars, hitting them at any part of their body.
Field guns:
Various field guns allow containing a rush of the enemy's tanks with minimum outlay of funds. The cheapest guns are used against armoured cars and infantry (45 mm gun, American 37 mm gun). The cannons of a larger caliber (Pak-40, ZIS-3, British 57 mm gun) are usually used for the fight against the other's guns and light tanks. The cannons of a higher class )ZIS-2, Pak-40) are used for fighting against medium tanks (fire at the frontal part from a short distance, and at the side from the distance longer than 100 meters) and even heavy tanks (fire at the side).
Armoured cars:
An armoured car is an excellent mean for reconnaissance and exposure of the enemy's weapon emplacements. In addition, it can be a good help for its infantry when they are in the defense. Armoured cars can be armed with machineguns, and several – with guns, able to destroy\damage light tanks.
Light tanks:
Light tanks are destined for infantry destruction. They can also be used for exposure of the enemy's medium and heavy tanks. A competently placed light tank can frustrate the enemy's attack against the flag completely. In addition, in the offensive it will not be out of place.
Medium tanks:
Medium tanks are a combination of maneuverability, armour and a killing gun in the same battle unit. Their major tasks are to neutralize enemy's weapon emplacements, to support infantry in the attack, to destroy medium and light tanks. In the defense, their best usage is gunnery from behind a small hillock, a stone wall or a house. You should not forget that a tank can make passes through walls and fences crush houses and enemy's artillery.
Self-propelled guns:
They are used to support other combat arms with gun-fire from fortified positions. The antitank efficiency of SPG is raised with using reconnaissance; in the event that enemy's tanks broke through, self-propelled guns can be successfully used as an antitank agency. Best of all they fire from a previously chosen position on the flat ground, without any movement. If a self-propelled gun has a very thin armour (SU-76, Nashorn), then the most reasonable is to change the position after every shot and to beware of enemy's howitzer artillery.
Heavy tanks:
Heavy tanks are remarkable for their strong armour and powerful armament. They are used for struggle against any possible enemies. Due to their low speed, such tanks are not right for executing manoeuvres into the enemy's flank.
Heavy artillery:
First of all, howitzers are used for struggle against enemy's infantry. The artillery of caliber more than 105 mm may be used against light tanks. The shells of 152 mm caliber can destroy even the heaviest tanks. The best usage for any artillery is to hide behind a shelter and to rake their targets with fire from there.
Others:
You should not forget to buy trucks with ammunition, grenades, fuel and field-engineer accessory either. A repair toolkit, accidentally found at hand, can save a tank, for which you have been saving for the whole game; and a couple of mines, placed on the roads from a sapper truck, can stand in very good stead. Self-propelled guns and heavy tanks are in need of fuel very often since they change their positions. Some units are equipped with bushes, use verdure to camouflage them!
